Strengthening of Vocational Education and Training (SVET)
The Sustainable Economic Development and Employment Promotion (SEDEP) project aims to improve employment in Bosnia and Herzegovina by supporting the digital and green transformation of the economy. The project is co-financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Government of Switzerland, and is being implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
An important part of this comprehensive project focuses on 'Strengthening Vocational Education and Training' (SVET), which aims to improve technical and vocational education and training (TVET) in the country. This educational approach offers young men and women the knowledge and skills required for the digital and green economy, providing employers with high-quality, competitive employees in the labour market. It will also improve the structure of dual organised TVET and support the development of a sustainable TVET system. These improvements are necessary to ensure the qualified labour force required for the country's sustainable economic development.
The SVET component, financed by Switzerland, will run from June 2023 to June 2026.
