The overall project objective is to promote economic development on a local and regional basis. Local and regional stakeholders jointly develop a strategic vision for economic growth in target communities and cities and implement it to promote innovation and improve women's and men's incomes. This is intended to achieve more institutionalised and participatory economic development planning, building on the specific comparative advantages of the target locations.

By promoting more business-friendly conditions on the part of the collaborating municipalities and cities, the local private sector will contribute to the prosperity of the target areas.

Overall, this approach is expected to lead to more sustainable and inclusive economic development with more decent and inclusive jobs and higher incomes for all genders.
